Growth Stage Healthcare Startup Hiring CTO / Lead Developer

See all Rehab jobs is hiring a highly experienced, strategic CTO/Lead Developer to build and scale our technical team, and take it to new heights. The right person will have a strong technical background and a deep knowledge of product management, including being able to generate smart product roadmaps.

You will lead the exciting redevelopment of our site architecture, database design, (UX/UI) and general development. To execute, you’ll build out our new technical team, including full knowledge transfer from the old team.

We're looking for someone with a deep understanding of consumer internet products (primarily online booking agents -- OBAs), as well as experience defining system architecture and SEO architecture.

Creating reliable, scalable, high-performance products requires exceptional technical expertise as well as strong leadership. We are seeking a skilled, well-rounded lead developer with both extensive backend experience and a strong grasp of front-end needs (UI/UX).


  • 10+ years experience as a software developer
  • Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility trade-offs, including SEO architectures and HTML best practices
  • Thorough knowledge of consumer internet products, and the importance of a quality content/publisher strategy
  • Experience with SEO and search engine development, especially using ElasticSearch
  • Expertise in exploiting backlinks
  • Willingness to work remotely, with monthly travel to Scottsdale, AZ (our current HQ)
  • Previous startup experience, and comfort in a lean startup environment
  • Deep expertise in at least one of the following: PHP, Ruby or Java


  • Knowledge of SCRUM or similar agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, making them more efficient and effective
  • Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Understanding of backlink significance
  • Experience in security: data management, PII, servers and anti-scrapping measures

Bonus Points:

  • As we are a rehab site, someone in recovery is a plus
  • Motivated by complicated challenges, aggressive timelines and pressure is a plus
